A folk singer-songwriter from Toronto, Canada, Mimi Dominique is the daughter of two theatre actors, giving her a deep appreciation for the art of storytelling and the power of live performance. Some of her most beloved inspirations include Laura Marling, Connie Converse, and Joan Baez. Lately, Mimi has been exploring her passion for traditional folk singing, performing folk songs from the British Isles with her sister as well as connecting to her roots through Ukrainian polyphony.

Mimi has played countless shows across Canada. She is a graduate of Seneca College’s Songwriting and Performance Program as well as of Folk Canada’s Developing Artist Program. In April 2026, Mimi completed her first tour, which included a performance with Juno award-winning artist Kaia Kater. Mimi has played at the Filberg Festival in BC as well as at Live from the Rock Folk Festival in Red Rock, ON and  Toronto Folk Festival  on Toronto Island. She just released her single Seashell and is currently recording new music that will be released throughout the spring of 2027. Mimi hopes to honour the folk tradition of truth-telling and bringing people together through story and song.
